The Challenge
Police Safety Development Service was a start up company that offered professional coaching for police officers and firefighters candidate through their interview process.
Project Goals
- Build trust through an updated, professional look
- Convey the positive and upbeat experience of working with the PSDS team
-Create a visual identity that portrayed the concept of experience
Creative Approach
I researched the competitive nature of these types of position and how selective the process can be. Their training program boasted a 85% success rate compared to only 3% for candidates coming out of the academy that go it alone. The more we interacted with the PSDS team, the more I realized they were straight-forward, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I wanted the experience of working with them to shine through their new identity.
Initial Concepts
My initial designs were somewhat generic focusing on standard icons for the profession as well as different combinations of the letterforms. I wanted to allude to graduating from the police academy and making the leap to employment.
Final Two Concepts Presented to Client
How I Helped
- Visual look and feel
- Logo design
- Identity System
